Night Time Aerial Photography
After many months of research Flight Images is pleased to announce that we are now able to provide a night time aerial photography service.

Traditionally this has been achieved by using a helicopter to minimise movement to allow the longer exposures needed to photograph in very poor lighting conditions. Exposures of between 2 and 8 seconds are normally used to achieve good results. This exposure length is not practical and results in images with severe movement.

Flight Images took a different approach using custom created camera settings and gyro stabilisation we were able to produce crystal clear night time images from an aircraft travelling at over 130MPH!

We took a series of images over London including the Houses of Parliament, London Eye, Piccadilly Circus, Lloyds Building, Tower Bridge and Canary Wharf some of which are shown below.

Flight Images takes delivery of Nikon D3
Flight Images is proud to announce that we have taken delivery of one of the very first Nikon D3's to be imported into the UK.

This brand new camera uses a full frame cmos sensor to deliver stunning aerial imagery and is able to operate in adverse lighting conditions using it's very high ISO rating.

The camera has created quite a stir in the press and people want to know how it performs in the 'real world' so, we invited DSLR User Magazine to come on a flight with us over London and see the new camera in action. The article is scheduled to be in the March 2008 issue.

Flight Images would like to thank Nikon UK for the one to one training and specific setup recommendations.
